💡 Essential Tips

  • Street food is safe and delicious — pad thai $1.50, fresh papaya salad $1, mango sticky rice $2. Eat where locals eat

  • Negotiate tuk-tuk prices before getting in — always agree on price upfront or use Grab app instead

  • Dress code at temples: shoulders and knees covered. Carry a light scarf in your bag for unexpected temple visits

  • Never touch anyone's head or point your feet at a Buddha — basic Thai cultural respect

  • Best seasons: November–February (cool and dry in the north), April–October (off-peak on the islands, cheaper but some rain)

  • Carry hand sanitiser and a reusable water bottle — tap water is not safe to drink anywhere in Thailand
